Haileybury is a leading independent co-educational school just 20 miles north of London. Clarity are proud to have worked with Haileybury for many years, helping with exciting and innovative AV projects. Driven by their passionate Director of IT, Duncan Spooner-Wells, Haileybury embrace up to the minuet AV technology across their considerable estate.

Mobile Television
The schools ‘Bradby Hall’ presented a challenge for Haileybury. There was a regular requirement to display video media but, due to an abundance of ornate woodwork, mounting a projector & screen or a commercial display proved difficult. The solution finally hit upon was a mobile screen that could be deployed as-and-when required. The unit needed to be robust, stable and self-contained.

We provided a custom ‘clamshell’ flight-case housing an 86” interactive screen mounted on a motorised riser and an Audac high-power soundbar. When deployed, the tough black case’s split lid can be removed and the screen raised to an optimum height.  Onboard power distribution is provided, and HDMI connectivity is brought to the front of the unit for easy access.

Dual Use Projector
Haileybury’s Ayckbourn Theatre was already in need of a new projector, but wouldn’t it be great if we could use it both onto a new, rather impressive, 5.9m wide screen and also onto a cyclorama cloth to provide a video backdrop for theatrical productions. Better still if this could all happen at the push of a button.

Our solution was to install an Epson 10,000 lumen projector with a wide zoom lens.  A useful feature of the projector is that it has lens memory so the school can save the 6m screen setting and the video backdrop setting on different buttons, enabling them to swap between the two without interacting directly with the projector and avoiding having to manually reposition it.

Projector and Screen for Presentations
A projection system was needed for presentations in the school’s cricket pavilion.  We provided a ceiling mounted 6,000 lumen short-throw projector with a 2.7m wide motorised screen that completely covers a window when extended to block out as much incoming light as possible.  Two Optimal Audio loudspeakers, wall-mounted, either side of the screen provide supporting sound.  For operation a discreet wall-mounted button panel was installed on a side wall alongside a in-wall mixer amplifier to trim the sound and provide additional inputs for auxiliary sound sources.
